How many organisations are saying that at the moment? A lot more than before, but what’s stopping even more from doing so?
No organisation takes on staff unless they really need them but if you want to grow your business then sooner or later you’ll have to employ somebody. If you’ve ever read “The E-Myth” by Michael E. Gerber then you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about. If you haven’t read it then you might find it will change you and your business.
If, on the other hand, you haven’t got any plans to grow your business then think about what your competitors are doing. A business is like a tree in the forest. If you’re not growing then others are, and slowly they will grow around you, taking away your light and nutrients. They may not even allow you to progress beyond the seedling stage.
Plus… what you’re doing for a living possibly constitutes just a job and not a business. It may also be a job without very many benefits. Many of us think of our business as our pension but could you really sell it to somebody else? When was the last time you took a holiday? How many hours a week are you working? Have you got any time to find new clients?
“But I can’t afford to take anyone on!” I hear you say. “And what about employment law? A friend of mine had to pay out £20,000 to settle a tribunal claim that was entirely without foundation. Not to mention National Insurance, paid holidays, sickness absence and pension auto-enrolment.”
Well, if you don’t take anyone it’ll just be you, and what happens if YOU fall sick? Who’s going to look after your business?
For 7 years I spent every weekend doing my own books. Now I’ve got time to do other things. How? I hired a bookkeeper, of course. Does she only work for me? No, of course not.
One of biggest clients started her business from scratch 9 years ago. Now she’s turning over in excess of £5m, drives a new Ferrari and alternates her time between England and various homes abroad.
She still doesn’t employ anyone directly though. She’s using Zeb.PA. She refers to our team as ‘hers‘. We even have “staff meetings”. She’s outsourced everything. She’s got almost no overheads, no payroll and no staffing worries.
Take your stress away by employing Zeb.PA.
